Having a weekend coinciding with the New Year festivities gave it a grand start.
Was it the general enthusiasm and gaiety in the air that rubbed off, on each of us or was it our altered state of mind which gave us so much happiness. It's difficult to say. Maybe a mix of both. During such big festivals and occasions, everyone is so busy being happy and enjoying themselves to the hilt that it's difficult to be worried and sad. You tend to put away your cares for another day too. I wonder why it isn't the case all year through.
Being happy is really a choice you make everyday, every moment. Not like I didn't know it before, but contemplation makes the realization even deeper.
Why resist the flow of the river with all your might and waste your energy thus, when you can flow with it to places you've always wanted to visit. Why stop at the first boulder that came your way, when you can flow around it and be on your way.
The energy that positive people exude rubs off on everyone around. It is impossible to stay unaffected. One lamp lights another and soon you've a bright and cheerful room. Where there is no place for darkness.
