What a waste of time!

They lied and I fell for it! And how! End of season sale. Upto 51% off on apparel, footwear and accessories. Show me these words and I'd be there to pay homage. In pursuit of the perfect shirt I went there with family in tow. Scouraged heaps and floors full of stuff which wasn't worth the price quoted on the tag. I managed to like something and instead of a 51% off like it was the last time I went there, they wanted to buy two shirts worth a 1000 plus each and then they'd give me a third free. And mind you'd it's not applicable across brands.  Which means you can't pick up one Allen Solly and a second from Van Heusen or Annabelle. So sad. And this is 50% off? Really? I do suck at Math, but I didn't know I sucked so bad!

Well we went there in search of clothes and came back with groceries to feed 3 families comprising of 4 people each Have money, will spend. On things that aren't needed. They tricked me I tell you. Last time my sister got a shirt and I got the one that came free with it, and it worked beautifully. Poor me. Not like I am short of clothes. Ok tell me this. What do women do with so many clothes anyways? My cupboard can't accomodate more clothes. On second thoughts, I think I need a bigger cupboard ;-) Kidding. Indulging in retail therapy isn't all that bad. But doing that with heels on, is something you might want to rethink. Was I tired or what at the end of it!

Now after a tiring day, you'd want to eat nutritious stuff and watch the calories. What was my dinner? 2 plates  of mouth watering pani puri (A round, hollow "puri", fried crisp and filled with spicy water, which is made of tamarind and mint chutney in addition to a whole lot of spices) and dosa ( a  crepe made from rice and black lentils) My stomach growls for more as I see the pictures. Sigh. Good food makes me SO happy :D Do you see the grin? People eat to live, I live to eat :D I was on a leave today and tomorrow I go back to my hallowed workplace. Till I make an appearance here again. Bon Appetit!

Nothing much ...

The song that comes to my head is 'That thing you do'. It isn't hugely related to what will follow, but literally maybe!Someone once said that even if you do something for someone, you do it for selfish reasons. Ten years down the line, when you think of it, your eyes will still glaze with tears. Those little things, those big things. When you give away a sizable amount of your savings to get your sibling an anniversary gift. A gift you could never afford before. When you spend away your savings on someone you love, even though you'd rather save it for a course you always wanted to take up. When you stay up all night, because your beloved is grief stricken. When you are there for your dear ones, through their darkest hours and through their brightest moments. When at the end of the day someone tells you that they'd never have managed without your support. When someone discovers something you did for them, without you telling them. When you realize that you're loved unconditionally.

There are some people and some things they do for you, which can never be paid back. Not in kind. Not in cash. They indebt you for life. No matter how much you do for them, no matter how much you think of them, you can never for the life of you do what they did for you, and help them as much as they helped you. When a thank you isn't enough. When words are insufficient to describe the gratitude you feel for them.

You reach a point when whether your doing is acknowledged with appreciation or evokes a cold reaction makes no difference. You know in your heart that you couldn't do any better. You couldn't be any better.

Such people, and such events make you look up heaven wards and say a silent Thank You. For a life full of the love of such people. When your cup of love overflows...

Just for your information

I am still alive and kicking! The  past week has been exhausting, as it always is. But I am glad I've survived week one under my new boss, and there hasn't been any issue, just a little appreciation coming my way. What tomorrow's meeting holds in store for me, I don't even want to know though!

Enlightening questions always elicit ridiculously boring answers for me.For instance asking me "What are your plans for the weekend?" will always prompt me to say "Sleep". The one big thing that is the highest on my list of things to do every weekend. This weekend was different though. I have been preparing for my darling sister's visit. She  shall be visiting us after a complete year and I am super excited about it :D ( Grinning bad, so bad that you can see it). Every bone pains, but the spirits refuse to sag! Wish I'd feel the same about work!  Alright, I will do everyone a favor and not start about it :D

It's only now after the entire day that I am getting some me time and here I am! The day is over and I have yet to see the newspapers. The e-paper is more convenient, but I still prefer the variety I can hold in my hand, and drop Maggi noodles over, while reading. Which is what I shall be doing shortly.

Listening to Diana King - La La Lies and MC Hammer -Can't touch this, as I write. Not that I'm a huge fan of that genre, but they are just so catchy! No special insights into either the video or the lyrics. I didn't compose either. They don't make sense, and could do a great job of the video, but I sure can't get enough of them when I heard them on the radio after such a long time today.

Till my return, fare thee well! I'm on such  a high :D and won't make sense if I continue. My dear sister, here we come :)

Smile a lil

Lesson of the week: Always  be happy with what you have. And that was 'always' in bold, italics and is underlined.(And mind you these are notes to myself). Being greedy never helps. Because you can't be a selective taker to what life gives you ( Oh my! What a line!)

Reason behind the logic: I was hoping for a manger who was a human being with feelings. Breaking news! I've a new manager. who is a monster (devoid of feelings)!! Can it get any better than this? I am sure. Can it get any worse? Definitely! He is supposedly the worst one could get while here and for as long as the news has hit me, I've heard nothing but this. Everyone has the same opinion about him. Which is "Not good".

Things will get very very interesting from here, and I'll have many tales to narrate. Well. I am so well tutored on "How to survive him"  that I am sure, me and my colleagues will do a fine job at it.

When things are not going good, they could get better, but could also get A LOT worse! (Oh wow!! Am I not bubbling with unheard of lines!!) So smile and don't bother yourself by stressing and freaking out. It's just not worth the situation and is beyond pointless (I am talking to myself, and this won't be applicable to everyone). Live the motions! (What was that? Sorry?)

Beyond my work, life between the last post and this, has been good. Do I have time to have a life? That is strictly debatable.  I just read a tee- shirt quote, which so applies to everyone who is a pro at making other's life miserable (read my manager)

"I didn't slap you. I high five-ed your face"

A New Beginning

Another year is behind us. Just a few days back, the entire city was in a celebratory mood with every nook and cranny decked up with twinkling lights. You could smell happiness in the air. Just to hear how people wanted to usher in the new year brought genuine smiles. Within no time, it's all over and sadly the new year doesn't come for the next 360 days. Hmm.

My New Year wasn't quiet (Thanks to the fireworks which I was fortunate enough to witness with family as the clock struck twelve) but was very peaceful. Could it have been better, oh yes. I could have gone on a holiday, would have danced the night away and seen the first sunrise from a yatch in a serene and picturesque surrounding :D But was it good?  you bet!

A lot comes into picture as far as my happiness in concerned. Namely my manager. I am sure she has a life of her own,but screwing other's happiness, gives her an ultimate high which is incomparable to anything else. She joins the tribe of managers who employees hate and revel with glee in the feeling. Do I have another synonym. Wicked. Sounds more like it. Am I feeling murderous? You bet! Like what in the world did she do to invite this wrath? Made me work for 8 days at a stretch without any leave whatsoever when the company policy dictates a mandatory 2 day leave after 5 working days. Is that a big deal? No! I shall cool down soon, don't you worry.

Human nature. I must be too much of a human to never be satisfied with what I have. Shouldn't I be glad I have a job? Oh yes, I most definitely am! (Kneels down and says a "Thank you God") Alright enough with all this. Bah! Did I tell you I'm on a 2 day weekly off as I write this. :D (Grinning with all her teeth visible)

How have you all been and how was your New Year? It feels so good to be back in my own little space.

Here's to a new beginning! Cheers everyone! (I raise my coffee cup) Hope this new year brings you everything that your heart most desires and may this be your best year ever. Full of happiness, cheer, good health and all things good :)

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
