Do you choose your mood, or do your moods choose you? One morning sees you wake up with the brightest of smiles that could adorn your face, while other mornings would see you cranky and wish you'd sleep some more. One morning you could look out the window and look lovingly at the next door neighbor walking his/her dog (and find both so cute), and on others you'd so wish they would both disappear in unision and give you and the rest of the society that much needed silence!
Mood swings is such a "teenager thing". I know. I thought so too! Now before you give that big fat yawn that you normally do , I won't be imparting any gyan here (though I just might). Just thinking.
Why should the world at large irritate you no end one day, and be full of angels on others? Unresolved issues from the previous day? End of hangover? Brush with reality? Reality does bite, if you let it do so. (Here comes the gyan of the day!)
It sure takes efforts to maintain your sanity and peace( Now why am I reminded of that cheesy dialogue "Madness is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!"?). You have to make the effort to notice that abundant sunshine is better than a gloomy looking day. You have to realize that noisy neighbors are better than a haunted house! You have also to realize that no work finally means time for all your hobbies. (And then I said I wouldn't preach!! )
But with all the other tiny realizations, did it also hit you that had it not been for the different moods and moments, we'd be so robotic. Programmed to behave ourselves all the time with a smile plastered all over our faces. The concept of people skills and dealing with difficult humans would be defunct! Variety my dear friend, both in terms of food and life experiences is the spice of life. ( I sure have lost it. It happens! Which reminds me of "Out of my mind, back in 5 minutes :D)

I think I might post that saying somewhere in my house..."Out of my mind...Back in 5 min."...Mood swings are a natural way for stress relief I believe...lets go of any pent up emotions we aren't aware we are penting:) "is penting even a word?"...anyway...experiencing days of bad moods just highlights your normal feel good days...We can choose to recognize bad moods for what they are...go with the flow and not empower them...Fake smiles though are not honest...Smile and have a good day Stillness :)
Hmmm...and all the time I thought I PMS'ed the whole month! :p
I like having answers to my niggling queries :D
WANDA:You have a point there! Never thought about it that way, but this makes so much of sense! We give vent to the pent up stuff, and we don't even realize :-) I also agree with your view that we mustn't empower the bad moods and thoughts. Thanks a tone Wanda!
STILL THINKING:You make me giggle like crazy Still!! We're talking serious stuff here :D
You know Stillness, I learned a long time ago that I have a choice each morning when I awake, I can say "Good Morning God" or "Good God Morning", same words with a much different attitude. Now 99% of the times my choice is number 1 and it makes for a wonderful start to each and every day.....:-) Hugs
BERNIE: I can't agree with you more on this! Life gives us choices every moment and we can live the life of our dreams if we make the correct choices. I've heard this saying before, but I forget to remind myself of the same when I am feeling blue! Thank you SO much for reminding me Bernie, I won't forget this time! Loads of love to you :-)
